In 1903 the Dimbulah township was first established as a junction point for Chillagoe and Mt Mulligan.

The pub was first built in 1908 as a single story building, however due to the increase of tobacco in the area, the pub was rebuilt to include a ladies lounge and upstairs accommodation.

On August 3, 1953 the pub and six other buildings were burnt down. A new pub was reopened in 1956 and was again renovated in 2018.
